Biography
|
Arjan Dekkers ( 1966 ) took
his first pianolessons at the age of seven. In 1985 he
got admitted to the Rotterdam Conservatory where he started
his classical piano studies. After a while it appeared
that his lifelong fascination for the classical masters
could not weigh up to his passion for contemporary music.
He decided to change his course to composing and orchestration
and specialized in filmmusic. He graduated in 1992.
After his graduation he took on different freelance assignments
for composing and orchestrating, such as underscores for
industrial films, orchestrating and conducting a musical,
songwriting and lyrics. He also writes music for his own
projects such as a musical and a one-woman show for which
he is currently raising funds to get them in production.
In addition to his freelance activities Arjan teaches
piano, guitar and bass guitar.
Since 2002 he has dedicated his career to underscoring
feature films, documentaries and computer games. He found
a good musical partner in the Bulgarian
Symphony Orchestra, which is specialized in performing
and recording filmmusic, and with a long record of filmmusic
and CD-recordings. For the future he hopes to explore
his musical opportunities on a global scale. |
